A Bright Future Needs Bright Creativity

In today’s fast-paced world—where the market is overflowing with products and services and consumer needs are constantly shifting—it’s more important than ever for brands to offer creative and socially meaningful solutions. A great example of this? Photovoltaic systems. Imagine a structure that can convert sunlight into electricity. But it doesn’t stop there—it can drastically reduce energy costs for households and businesses while helping to protect the environment by lowering carbon emissions. Now that’s what we call a modern, creative solution.

At the end of 2023, just as we were getting ready to welcome the dawn of a new creative year, we were approached by a client who brought us a new challenge—and a spark of inspiration.

The client operated in the field of photovoltaic installations for energy production. They didn’t have a name yet, nor a logo—but they came to us with experience, strong motivation to stand out, and most importantly, a meaningful brand vision. Their mission was to “bring light” to their customers. Ours was to bring light to their brand.

And so, once again—driven by creative passion—we, the Freaks, followed the spark of our wild ideas and dove into the project with full force.

THE NAME

The first step in creating a brand from scratch is, of course, coming up with its name. For us as a creative agency, it’s crucial that the name is unique, creative, memorable, and most importantly, carries the deep brand idea. For the client, it was essential that we avoid the overused clichés found in the market and stand out. So here’s how we chose: Nova Rise Group.Novais a word that simultaneously means both new and a bright star. On one hand, it connects to the idea of a new beginning for the future—bright and dazzling, which the solar panels create with the development of clean energy. On the other hand, it’s associated with a bright, powerful star—a supernova. So, we at Freaks decided that “Nova” holds a lot of symbolism and is key to the brand’s concept. On the other hand, “Rise” — as in sunrise — helped us achieve the combination “Nova Rise,” communicating the new dawn that businesses and households will experience, choosing this new way of life and receiving light through solar panels. To add a touch of “weight” to the overall creative in the name, and to reinforce the idea that professionals stand behind the brand, we added “Group.” And so, we arrived at the final version — Nova Rise Group, which, in its shortened form NRG, had a playful effect — pronounced like “energy,” which is exactly the idea behind the brand.

Once we had chosen the brand name, it was time for our favorite part – bringing it to life. Our inspiration came from the idea of clean and modern 3D forms that convey a sense of innovation and sustainability – characteristics closely tied to new technologies and the brand’s core idea.In the logo design, we illustrated the letter “G,” which is part of the brand name, and a power button symbol, representing the activation of electronic systems. This activation, of course, can only happen with energy—energy that solar panels provide. We chose this indirect element to infuse creativity into the overall deep meaning of the brand. For the color scheme, we opted for orange and yellow, as these are the colors most commonly associated with the rising sun. The gray used for the brand name brings a sense of balance, stability, perfectionism, modernity, and elegance—all qualities that are central to our client’s essence and values.

SLOGAN

And since the successful completion of building a brand requires harmony between the name, logo, and message, it was time to solidify the brand idea with a tagline that would emphasize the depth of the name and logo – Charged by the sun. This slogan perfectly captures the essence of the brand, linking the idea of energy and light to the power of the sun, which fuels the solar panels and brings the brand’s promise to life. It’s a simple yet powerful message that ties together the brand’s identity and its mission.

And so, the successful partnership between us and our client laid the foundation for a new beginning — one that shines with modernity, creativity, and innovation.
